If you watch the Underworld series in order, you expect the ending of Underworld to be the premise for Underworld: Evolution. It kind of is, but not completely. The intro sets up the story to step back in time to an epic battle scene that explains the things we need to know to move forward in Evolution. I was surprised to find that the story is muddled throughout the movie again until the very end when it all ties together. There were a few predictable parts that were necessary, so they were less upsetting than the usual predictable plot twist. Evolution, in my opinion, was a small bit better than its predecessor, but I am really hoping for more from the rest of the series.
